Activists not infrequently need legal assistance to protect some aspect of their right to carry out voter mobilization activities. Sometimes there is a need to defend activists in court against unfair, unconstitutional, or trumped-up charges. At the same time, unfair and unconstitutional laws and policies intended to suppress the vote, to deprive people of their right to equal access to the ballot, must be challenged in court. Litigation in opposition to the election rigging schemes of Republicans is a primary focus of several groups on this page.
