Legislative Testimony
Lobbying & Pressure Campaigns
This section includes groups that analyze the nature and impacts of Republican attempts to tilt future elections even further in their favor. Armed with that understanding, pro-democracy advocates can then offer testimony in state legislative committee hearings as well as brief individual legislators and their staffs. Given that "gentle persuasion" is usually inadequate, these groups then inform the public and news media about what is happening and ultimately marshal public opinion in pressure campaigns to try to push legislators to change course in some way, large or small.
